Deacon's Board

“Not so shall it be among you: but whosoever would become great among you shall be your minister; and whosoever would be first among you shall be your servant: even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” -Matthew 20: 26-28 (ASV)

The Deacons Board is comprised of men and women (deaconess) who are either elected by the congregation or appointed by the Pastor to hold the honorable position of deacon. Individuals that are elected to the position of deacon must live a life that exhibits faithfulness and loyalty to both the Lord and His church. Deacons are filled with the Holy Spirit, wise, faithful, respectable, of good character, trustworthy and can manage their household affairs, making them fit to handle church affairs.  Deacons are responsible for:
 
⦁    Committing to the church’s Statement of Faith, Church's Covenant, and the Vision/Purpose
 Statement.
⦁    Providing support to the Pastor and the pastoral staff
⦁    Remaining faithful in attendance at Sunday church worship
⦁    Regular attendance at the Board of Deacons meetings
⦁    Providing encouragement to and participating in ministries of the church
⦁    Assisting in ministering the gospel to believers and unbelievers
⦁    Demonstrating Christ-like consecration, loyalty, prayer, support, maturity, and faithfulness
 to the church body
⦁    Assisting in visiting the sick and needy of the church
⦁    Assisting with new membership assimilation
⦁    Participating in deacon duties during Sunday worship
